ROADCLOUDX was founded in 2025 by us from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a mission to revolutionize road safety and combat rising auto insurance costs.

 

Recognizing the need for smarter driving solutions, we set out to develop an innovative dashcam system that not only records the road but also provides real-time driving insights to improve habits and lower premiums. Driven by a passion for automotive innovation and data-driven safety, we are shaping the future of intelligent driving—empowering drivers, fleet operators, and insurers with the tools to make the roads safer, smarter, and more cost-efficient for everyone.

 

• Chenyu Wang brings deep industry expertise from his time as a product development lead at BMW, where he oversaw the development of exterior lighting systems for the BMW X3 and X5 from concept to launch. 

• Chao Xiong, with a background in insurance and insure tech, recognized the urgent need for intelligent, accessible tools to reduce auto insurance costs and improve road safety across underserved populations.
